We continue to offer our prayers to the families who have suffered great loss as a result of the magnitude 7.2 earthquake and the damage from Tropical Storm Grace that devastated Haiti.
If you would like to support the people of Haiti, kindly donate by check or cash. You can drop it in the collection or bring it to the Parish Office. Make checks payable to: Immaculate Conception & Assumption Parish and write “Haiti” on the memo line. If you intend on giving cash, please put it in an envelope marked “Haiti" on the front. We would be pleased to receive them by this Sunday, September 12, and then send them to the Cardinal who will send all proceeds to the Archbishop of Haiti for their use. As always, thank you for your generous support.

PREP Catechists Urgently Needed

"I am grateful to all the parishioners who generously volunteered to serve as Catechists, Aides, and Monitors. There is still an extremely urgent need for additional volunteers for all positions, especially for Catechists for the Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon sessions (4:15 PM - 5:30 PM). Do You Like to Embroider?
If you have ever seen, or been part of a Baptism at either of our churches, you may have noticed the Priest place a white bib on the infant at some point during the ceremony. These bibs are lovingly made by volunteers in our Parish and each is a small "remembrance" the family can take home of one of the most important events in their child’s life.
If you are someone who would like to be part of welcoming the newest members to our Catholic faith and to our parish by contributing your time and embroidery talent, we would love to hear from you! A simple chain stich is all you need to know how to embroider and a

Pope Saint John Paul II Men’s Group
Meeting at 7 PM on 9/23
The Parish of the Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Our Lady invites all men ages 18 and over to join our Pope Saint John Paul II Men’s Group. This ministry provides a forum for men who desire to increase their knowledge and love of our Lord and the Catholic faith. Our goal is to form a vibrant fellowship for education, mutual support, encouragement, and growth by engaging in informal, round-table discussions about the challenges encountered in applying our rich and beautiful Catholic faith in the secular culture in which we live.
We will discuss sacred scripture, Church history and tradition, the lives of the saints, and so much more. We will see where the Holy Spirit leads us.
We meet on one Thursday evening each month. Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 23, at 7 PM in the Parish Center at Immaculate Conception. All men of our parish are warmly welcomed.

Cardinal Dolan will be the celebrant and our own Fr. Anthony Sorgie will be the Homilist. Six of our Altar Servers will accompany Fr. Sorgie to St. Patrick's Cathedral and serve the Mass for the Cardinal. Parishioners are welcome to attend the Mass and view the parade.
Immediately following the Mass, the 77th Annual Columbus Day Parade will march up 5th Avenue.

for Students Entering Grades 1 - 8
The PREP Office is still accepting registrations for the upcoming 2021-2022 PREP year. Families who have not yet registered their children are urged to do so immediately. Keep in mind that late Registrations may experience a delay in processing and availability in all sessions cannot be guaranteed.
PREP plans to return to in-person classes in September, with 3 Sessions to choose from:
- Tuesdays: 4:15 PM - 5:30 PM
- Tuesdays: 6:45 PM - 8:00 PM
- Wednesdays: 4:15 PM - 5:30 PM

As we near the opening of our new Columbarium and Terrace Gardens, we are still accepting reservations and deposits for niches from people wishing to have their own or a family member’s cremains buried at Holy Mount Cemetery. Each niche holds up to two urns of cremains.
